Principle

The body is a perfect biodynamic-mechanical system controlled by brain. Mind is everywhere. Craniosacral yoga works with mechanisms which are the most harmful to this central unit and establishes the perfect collaboration between body and mind.  “Flow” is the state when we do not stop these mechanisms but we become silent observers. And how to reach it?

Every lesson of craniosacral yoga starts on a special prop called “the still point trigger”. It lightly compresses the fourth cranial ventricle which can result in cessation of cerebrospinal fluid for a very short time. Then a wave is created which runs through the glymphatic system and cleanses it from extracellular proteins. This process enables easier transport of liquid in the main blood vessels in the brain. Another great benefit of this technique is a temporarily calm mind with no thoughts being produced. This is a little miracle in the busy lifestyles we have nowadays. The second important step in the exercise is to release as much tension from connective tissues as possible. The tension is caused by substances being build-up in the tissue. In other words, the more relaxed these tissues are the bigger transport among cells is enabled. The tension also negatively influences the flow of cerebrospinal fluid and slows it down and results in brain not receiving an appropriate amount of substances, i.e. hormones and glucose. The brain then has a limited performance and unnecessary or seldom used functions are disappearing. As a result, we stop having positive feelings and the feeling of joy is often replaced with depression and illness.

What is the solution to the situation when we cannot relax or calm our mind?

Special pumping in yoga asanas connects the beneficial effects of yoga while working with the breath of life – the flow of substances in tissues. This enables the most natural way of detoxication. The special pumping also activates the lymph in armpit nodes where glymphatic system and its waste empty. Such cleansing naturally occurs during a quality sleep on the right side. Sleep is also better due to the release reached through exercising. The regained vitality can then last for about two to three days after the yoga practise.
